We have bees! Kalmbach is raising bees naturally using a horizontal hive/Layens Hive model and a traditional vertical hive. Please come talk to us about what we are doing and the benefits for the park and community.
We have planted a Mother Plot of American Chestnut Trees at Kalmbach. Please come by to see how they are doing and learn more about how you can help save the American Chestnut Trees.

Artist Statement:
I was always creative but never saw myself as artistic.
In 2015 I took a class in colored pencils on a dare from my husband. Much to my surprise I found that I could draw! While I enjoyed colored pencils, I felt drawn to learn about pastels. After taking some classes I was hooked. I fell in love with the purity of the colors and how they can be layered, creating new colors and variations within the subject. Since I never had any formal art training I felt the need to catch up. To broaden my art experience and to meet other artists, I joined the Parkland Art League and the Lehigh Art Alliance .
I’ve been painting regularly with friends which I feel has pushed my growth tremendously. My love of gardening and nature led me to focus on painting flowers and wildlife. However, the beauty of the places I’ve traveled to now has landscapes calling out to me.
Becoming an artist has changed the way I see the everyday world in a good way. I have many paintings inside me just calling to be completed. I hope you enjoy my work as much as I enjoy creating it.
