We have bees! Kalmbach is raising bees naturally using a horizontal hive/Layens Hive model and a traditional vertical hive. Please come talk to us about what we are doing and the benefits for the park and community.

We have planted a Mother Plot of American Chestnut Trees at Kalmbach. Please come by to see how they are doing and learn more about how you can help save the American Chestnut Trees.

Message from the Artist

Art has always been a love of mine starting at a very early age, but it wasn’t till my children started school that I started taking art lessons. Early on I attended many local art classes offered around the Lehigh Valley and then attended the Lehigh County Community College where I earned an Art Certificate. More recently I studied with artist Hong Foo learning the Chinese style of painting. I work in oils but more recently have been working in acrylic. I enjoy painting florals and have done a series of bird paintings and recently ponds and koi. At present I participate in a weekly art workshop with other artists, a great way to create art while socializing with other artists.

I have been a member of the Parkland Art League for many years and have participated in many of their Art Exhibits. I appreciate Kalmbach opening their Conference Center for members of our League to exhibit our artwork.

I have displayed my artwork at Kalmbach before but this time I thought I would exhibit some of my Christmas paintings that I have painted over the years. Every Christmas I do a painting that I then photograph and have made into my Christmas card. With the annual Gingerbread competition at Kalmbach I thought this would be a good time to display my Christmas paintings, hope you enjoy them!
